Running Bitlash Scripts From External Media

If we had a Bitlash Best Hack of the Month award, this month's would surely go to Brett Hagman for his superb software prototype which demonstrates running Bitlash scripts off the uMMC shield. Check out Brett's post at Rogue Robotics, then please return here for some technical comments.

Bitlash 1.1 and Servo Mayhem

Today's release of Bitlash 1.1 corrects something that has always bugged me about Bitlash: it was too hard to add new functions to the interpreter. Now, it's easy.

You can visit Bitlash Online to read the detailed documentation of how user functions work in the new release. And there are examples that ship with Bitlash that you can load from the File → Examples → bitlash menu.

Bitlash 1.0 is Available for Download

I'm happy to announce that Bitlash 1.0 (final) is available for download at http://bitlash.net.

This version is tested with Arduino 0017. The only functional changes in this release were file name changes to improve the installation process. (These changes also work with 0018RC1.)

I have overhauled the Bitlash documentation at bitlash.net with a major focus on improving the installation instructions.

I'd would appreciate feedback on it in the discussion here.

Happy hacking!

By Way Of Introduction

Perhaps we have not yet met. My name is Bill Roy, and I publish here under the nom de bloggue entropymouse, for reasons which will eventually become evident to the patient reader.

This blog will, mostly, tell the story behind Bitlash, an onboard development environment for tiny embedded platforms that I have released as open source.

Shortly, I'll be announcing the release of the final bits for Bitlash 1.0 for Arduino. There are plans for further interesting announcements ahead, so please stay tuned.

Hello...

This blog is called The Entropymouse Capers, and it's about entropymouse, and certain capers, but the name of the capers is not The Entropymouse Capers, that's just the name of the blog, and that's why I call this blog The Entropymouse Capers.
